As part of my sponsorship with Pokerheaven, I am planning an SNG Challenge where I try and build a bankroll using my strategies from DFT. I think that I will probably start with 500 euros which is the initial maximum deposit bonus and try to build up from that. Playing SNG’s is something that I used to do some time ago and I played them full time for about six months but like anything else, I get bored.
But they fit into my current schedule very nicely these days. I dont have the time to play longer tournaments as finding between six to eight hours is pretty tough for me at the moment. But although cash games are flexible, at the stakes that I play at, I can spend a great deal of time preparing for and watching the session before I even play.
Some players may find buying into a $25-$50 game with $5000 trivial but good luck to them because I dont. So for every hour that I play in this game then I may spend an hour just watching it. I do not play in any game if I do not know the players or how they play. I site hop frequently when I play these games so if I have been doing well in a game and then suddenly we have a totally different line up then I will leave the game.
Not because I am fearful but because I dont know anything about the players and that is not good poker. I have a choice to leave that table and this is exactly what I do. But even though I have left the game, I will then sit and watch that game and get to know the new players. There is nothing to stop me from going back into the game again later.
But SNG’s are perfect for me, I can multi-table playing them and they are over in such a small time frame that I can fit them in. I am going to try and play 50 a week starting on the 1st June.
A couple of people have dropped out of PP which is dissapointing but at least they were honest enough to tell me before we even started. I dont know if I am going to replace them as time once again may be a factor although we will have to wait and see. As of this week I have been asked to write for POKER NEWS which is a magazine that gets distributed to card rooms all over England and Ireland I believe so I am also looking forward to that.
