I have always been very patriotic, this is why the young lad who urinated on a monument in the memory of our brave soldiers should be punished. Actually I blame the system, today’s young kids need to be made aware at school level of just what exactly happened and why.
Anyway enough of that……so I am very patriotic but not when it comes to betting. Guess who was on Brazil on Saturday? You guessed it and at 11/10 then I couldn’t do anything else. Brazil are at the level that we are trying to be even though they are not the Brazil of old. This was clearly a defeat waiting to happen.
No Gerrard, Lampard, Beckham, Carrick, Ferdinand, Terry, J Cole, A Cole, Walcott and heaven knows who else. Our second team is ordinary which is and always will be our Achilles heel. A world cup lasts for seven games if you want to win it and suspensions and injuries will be a big worry as we simply don’t have the players to fill certain positions.
If you don’t back Brazil in situations like these then what you are effectively doing is giving bookmakers a licence to squeeze the patriots even more. Punish them by opposing England and doing the exact opposite of what they want you to do.
In my mind given the game conditions and the fact that Brazil play to win all the time, I just thought that if this match was played twice that Brazil would win one of them. If it was played 10 ten times that they would win at least five of them.
Brazil at evens or better just had to be value and that made up for my loss on Valuev (well not quite). The only question mark was that this was a friendly and friendlies are notorious from a betting standpoint.
Had a good weekend on the whole, found time to play some online poker at $3-$6 HUNLHE. I was fortunate to stack someone after only five hands when I flopped top two with J-10 and was against K-K. It kind of reminded me of the Tom Dwan video. I lost about $200 back and realised that this guy was very good so I left +$400.
I took that into a $2-$4 PLO game and doubled my stack so ended up ahead by $800 for the weekend and a nice earner on Brazil
