Is it me or what?

Sometimes I really do think that my love of writing does get me into areas where I don’t want to be. Some people think that I self promote…..maybe a little but certainly not as much as people think but one thing is certain and this is that I know the online poker industry and gambling industry and I know it very well….that is just a fact given my experience in and around it for twenty years. I stopped writing for 2+2 yesterday and to be honest I never liked the experience and told them so in an e-mail yesterday. I am not one for making enemies unless I feel aggrieved about something.

But people that criticise what I write need to remember a few things. I write about what I have done, what I know, what other people know and my opinions. The things that I have done and results have been good and bad and so saying that I big myself up is literally light years away from the truth. If this comes across as that then this really isn’t my problem to be quite frank. I have written thousands of articles (literally) over six years and so taking a few articles that I have written in a vacuum and then saying that I am trying to “be something” is like looking at a jigsaw puzzle with 1000 pieces and then trying to ascertain the picture from one single piece.

I think I know why so many educated people ultimately fail in poker, many are so stuck up their own arses that they cannot see what time of day it is. Do people think that I am so deluded as to not know my level of ability as a poker player? I am fully aware of my abilities, poker is a skill based activity which means that the less you do it then the more your game suffers. I have spent too much time lately doing other things for me to be considered very good or strong or whatever name you want to put to it.

Knowledge and experience is not a licence to earn loads of money online, if it were then I would be up there with Dwan and Ivey and twenty year drivers would be up there with Michael Schumacher. If anyone read EVERYTHING that I have written over the past few months then they will be only too aware of where I am going. It is funny but when Belok says something on CardRunners about earning $100/hr from rakeback mass tabling then people say “yeah….great video…..when is the next video coming out” and all of the rest of it.

Funny thing is that when I simply say the same thing and basically agree with a CardRunners coach then people rip into me and think that I am talking rubbish. Still though……I am extremely driven…..but it is plainly obvious that when you eliminate the two main obstacles to making money online then winning money is pretty easy……these are good players and rake and if you can master the skill of playing 20 tables then $100/hr is possible and even probable. But if people want to look at poker in their own way then that is their right……but just be prepared to be going back to the day job or continue recycling money because the way that online poker is going then you are not going to earn it at the middle limits unless you are seriously dedicated.
