Regular readers of my blog will no doubt have been following my $100-$10,000 challenge on www.888poker.com where I have been trying to convert $100 into $10,000 since April 1st. I have now moved up to NL50 full-ring from the opening $0.01-$0.02 games that I started at and I have had three wins this week of more than $100 which has took the bankroll to $951.76. The move to NL50 has been both premature and necessary. It has been premature because I only moved with 16 buy-ins and while my style has been very low variance, I didn’t feel comfortable having so few buy-ins.
But at $951 then I think that the move was successful and my mind is right for the first time. I am also multi-tasking as well which usually isn’t a great idea but in this instance, my technique coupled with the value has seen me do really well by keeping my head in the game and not doing silly things. It is amazing when you think about it but I have taken my head out of the game to keep my head in the game……weird!
However there is a possibility that I may have to end the challenge at $1000 due to other commitments and that would be rather sad. But the hard part is over and the struggle has ended. I now know that I will convert $1000 into $10,000……there is no doubt anymore. I could simply multi-table NL50 and stay at that level and “The Vulture” will do its stuff and make $1000-$2000/month based on the hours that I would put in. If I increased the hours playing this way then I think that I would make the $10k before Christmas.
It no longer seems a challenge to me and I am also afraid that it may de-motivate me but will just have to wait and see.
