You should know me by now, as Barry Carter once said…. “Carl…you are a challenge obsessive”. Trouble is that he was right. I only seem to get motivated to play poker if I have some sort of challenge. At $25/hour then I have already proven that The Vulture can enable someone to play poker for a living as that equates to $4000/month when played at 40 hours a week.

The next challenge may be for me to try and prove the same thing with lowstakes limit holdem. I am thinking of starting a challenge on the 1st August where I play 0.50-1.00 and 1.00-2.00 limit holdem. Starting bankroll is $500. The rakeback payments will be higher in these games but if I can reach the old benchmark of 1bb/hour in live full ring poker at about 25-30 hands an hour then that should equate to $3/hour at 0.50-1.00 and $6/hour at 1-2.

This equates to $9/hour playing two tables and $18/hour if I can play two of each. If I can do this, I have calculated that I would get around $300/month in rakeback getting the 33% on Cake Poker. This would equate to me playing 40 hours so a full time player would get c$1200/month if this proved successful just in rakeback. This would top off with around $2800 on the tables which would match the Vulture.

That may be even more staggering than The Vulture by way of achievement. So that is pencilled in for the 1st August so just have to wait and see what happens. Havent played any heads up for a while but planning a couple of sessions later on today if I can squeeze them in.

take care and see you soon
